  • Lisa Mahoney - that's me! I've been positioning businesses and transforming marketing functions into growth engines for 15 years.

  • I have a solid reputation in the recruitment tech space, but have also positioned legal tech, learning platforms, financial services, ecommerce, management consulting and renewables businesses.

3. The positioning process begins

Positioning a product, service or business effectively is led by research. Here are the steps we'll go through:

  • Understand your business
    The first step will be a workshop to meet the core stakeholders, understand the strategic direction of your business, objectives and key results We'll also agree who will sign off, how we're going to communicate and what a good partnership looks like.

  • Understand your target audience
    I'll spend some time getting to know your ideal customer through interviews, user feedback, testimonials and competitor reviews. I'll use this to identify what they really care about, their biggest challenges and what they're ultimately trying to achieve.

  • Build your ideal customer personas
    Yes, that thing that you've always wanted to do but never had time to. I'll build you a personas guide for each of your core target audiences - the best possible foundation for any future marketing campaigns.

  • Build your messaging framework
    This is where things start to take shape. I'll put together a first draft of your messaging framework for your business, product or service in an easy-to-digest document (which I call a CopyKit), ready for your review.

  • Test and refine
    Through external testing and internal discussions, we'll get your messaging framework finessed and ready to go out the door.

  • Deliver your refreshed positioning
    For every positioning project you'll receive:
    - A summarised research report containing all the valuable insights learned about your target audience(s).
    - A copy-and-paste messaging framework for your business, product or service (we call it a CopyKit).
    - A 'paint-by-numbers' visual guide to how your new messaging should be structured on your website (we call these your website wireframes).
